Q1.  How long will it take to get my qualifications?


This will depend on the course you are taking and how quickly you learn. Short courses normally take approximately three months. Larger courses can take up to nine months to complete.

Q2.  Can I pay by installments?

On courses that require an investment of over £1,000 you can spread the payments over three months.

Q3.  Why are your courses shorter than further education courses?

The training at Debbie Foster International School Of Beauty is carried out on a one to one and small group teaching basis this accelerates the individual learning and reduces the time necessary and training moves at a quicker rate.

You are expected to carry out study at home and work through recommended course books which would normally be achieved at college.

Q4.  Will I get practical experience on the course?

Yes, the majority of the time spent onsite at the Debbie Foster School Of Beauty will be either practicing on fellow students or models.

Q5. Do I need a starter kit?

The school provides products and equipment to train with. Kits can be purchased to practice at home.

Q6.  If I need to travel a distance where can I stay?

There are a number of Hotels, B&B and Guest Houses in the local town and we can arrange accommodation for you if required.

By Road – Connections from the M6, M56 and M53 are nearby.
By Rail – Northwich Train Station is a short distance from the beauty school.
By Air – Manchester Airport is a 15 minute drive from Northwich.

Q8.  What should I wear when training?

Debbie Foster School Of Beauty uniform is black trousers and black top. These can be purchased on commencement of the course. Black shoes should be worn. Hair tied back from the face. Nails free from varnish and extensions.

Q9.  What time do the courses start and finish?

At Debbie Foster School Of Beauty offers flexible training and the start and finish times can be arranged on an individual basis.

Q10. If I have special training needs, will I be able to undertake the course?

Individual needs will be assessed prior to the course and discussed at the interview. From this an evaluation on how the training is going to be adapted to achieve your individual success.

Q11. How do I get Insurance cover on completion of the course?

Insurance details will be sent to you on completion of your course which is linked to the awarding authority.

Q12. What happens if I cancel or postpone my course?

Course fees and deposits are non refundable or transferable. If a course has to be postponed due to exceptional circumstances this can be discussed with the principle.

Q13. How can I achieve my qualifications?

There are various ways of providing competence-

Assessment: You will undertake practical tests of competence on specific treatments laid down by the awarding body.

Portfolio Building: Your tutor will help you assemble your portfolio of evidence based on practical assessments, workbook completion and written questions.

Underpinning Knowledge: Completion of exercises in your recommended textbooks will be included as evidence together with assignment completion.

Case Studies: Treatments carried out on models for a number of sessions will be documented and analysed to fulfil ranges specified in the assessment booklet.

Q14. What happens if I fail an assessment?

You will undertake the assessment again when further study has taken place.

Q15. Are the course lecturers qualified?

All lecturers hold teaching qualifications and are qualified in the courses they are teaching.
